Pumpkin Patch

All of the pumpkins look great!  The students did a wonderful job decorating their favorite book characters.  Don't forget about Lightning's Reading Club.  Please continue to read with your children and you will turn the form in on November 5th.  Thank you parents for all of your support this month with all of the activities with reading.  See below for some pictures from our pumpkin patch.


  • Last football game is tonight @ Friendship Christian.



  • Tomorrow students may wear a Halloween/fall shirt and blue jeans or an Ezell-Harding shirt and blue jeans.  No Halloween costumes, masks, paint, etc.




  • Open House will be on November 9th from 2:00-4:00.  Please invite your friends to come visit our wonderful school and tell them the many exciting things that are happening.  They can find us on Facebook as well.  



  • No School on November 10th.  No extended care.

Exciting Times

I am looking forward to next week as we create our favorite book characters using pumpkins.  Make sure you tell your teacher what book and book character you have chosen.  We will be having a pumpkin patch in the Eagle's Nest.  You may start bringing the pumpkins in on Monday.  They will be judged on Friday of next week.  See the flyer below.

The play Our Town will be this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 at Lakeshore Christian and the price will be $5.00 at the door.  Come out and support the high school and middle school students.  See the flyer below about Our Town.


Prospective Families Open House will be on Sunday, November 9th from 2:00-4:00.  Please go out and tell families about our wonderful school and all the exciting things that are happening.

Halloween Shirts may be worn on Friday, October 31st with blue jeans.  NO COSTUMES! You may also wear blue jeans and an Ezell-Harding t-shirt.

No School on November 10th-No extended care

Vocabulary Parade

Our vocabulary parade was a huge success. The students and teachers did a great job with their vocabulary words. Here are a few class pictures from today. I will try to get some other pictures as well for all to see. Thank you parents for your support to make this a special day. Everyone had fun and learned new words at the same time. Getting Back in the groove!!

It has been a busy week and we are getting back in the swing of things.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Fall Break!  We are excited to be having our Vocabulary Parade tomorrow and are looking forward to seeing you.  The students will report to class normally and the parade will start in the middle school gym at 8:30.  All parents/family are welcome to attend and take pictures from the gym.

There will be many fun activities and food for everyone.  It is a great time to spend with your family and your Ezell-Harding family.  The deadline for tickets has been extended until tomorrow and a table will be set up at the vocabulary parade.



Report Cards will be going home tomorrow afternoon.


We will be doing a pumpkin decorating contest in the elementary school.  The theme of the pumpkin must be their favorite book character.  You may paint, carve, dress, etc. the pumpkin.  We will have judges and will be awarding some prizes for best pumpkin.  The pumpkins will be due on October 27th and will be judged on October 31st. They will be placed in the Eagle's Nest for all to see!  This has been a busy month with all of our Reading projects and encouraging the kids to read!

FALL BREAK!!!

Thank you for all your support for our service projects.  We have had several items donated and we appreciate all of your support.  The students and families from Haywood Elementary will be very excited to receive these wonderful gifts.  I will be sending out the vocabulary parade and Lightning's Reading Club information today.  You should have received the information from your teachers already, but this is just a reminder.  If you have questions please contact your classroom teacher.
